What is insourcing? – Our Service

In its simplest terms, insourcing allows a contracting authority to make use of underutilised premises and equipment to deliver extra clinical capacity when it is not in routine use.

Seen as an extension to a Trust’s existing capacity, the solutions delivered by Intersource Medical provide the clinical teams and accompanying governance structures required to leverage the opportunity created through an unused resource.

Often provided out of core hours or at weekends, an insourcing solution helps a Trust to meet its Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets whilst dovetailing with existing patient treatment pathways.

Our Insourcing Process

Scoping of Service

We’ll talk extensively with your service’s key stakeholders to grasp the challenges and bottlenecks you’re experiencing. By identifying issues like staffing shortages, limited clinical capacity, or high referral volumes, we’ll create and implement a safe and effective solution to shorten your waiting lists.

Service Proposal

Once we grasp your service’s needs and expectations, our expert team will create a detailed plan outlining how we’ll use our resources alongside yours, as needed, to fulfil the initial goals discussed.

Feedback/Site Visit

After reviewing our first proposal, we’ll hold further discussions for feedback, adjustments, and final agreement. If needed, we’ll visit your site to understand how to best deliver the service using your facilities and resources. This visit also lets us meet your team in person, fostering trust and ensuring high-quality service

Commencement of Work

Before launch, our service delivery team will set up and onboard our clinical teams with your Trust, ensuring familiarity with the hospital site and seamless access. Our clinical team will prioritise safe and efficient discharging to contribute positively to RTT wait lists, supporting the NHS in meeting its targets.

Review

We’ll conduct regular reviews of the service, collecting feedback from both our staff and the Trust. This is crucial to promptly address any inefficiencies and ensure that the service meets high-quality standards, exceeding the agreed-upon expectations.
